How Meridian works — pipeline, scoring, background checks, and more
Pipeline Overview
Meridian follows a four-stage pipeline to find, qualify, and reach candidates.
Find candidates via Apollo market search, ICP sweep, or license database lookups. Results are auto-scored, deduped, and saved.
Reveal contact info (email, phone, LinkedIn) using Apollo credits. Supplement with RocketReach or TruePeopleSearch for missing data.
Auto-runs after reveal. Checks OFAC sanctions, CourtListener litigation, and FINRA disclosures. Results are confidence-scored.
Eligible candidates (enriched + email + clear/review background + not disqualified) are pushed to GoHighLevel for campaigns.
ICP Scoring
Every candidate gets an ICP score (0–100) based on signal weights. Higher scores mean a stronger fit for the ideal candidate profile.
Signal Weights
| Signal | Points | How It's Detected |
|---|---|---|
| Insurance License | +25 | License DB match or Apollo profile keywords |
| Military Veteran | +20 | Title/bio keywords (army, marine, deployed, etc.) |
| Sales Experience | +15 | Title match (account exec, BDR, sales manager, etc.) |
| Entrepreneur | +15 | Title/bio keywords (founder, CEO, owner, etc.) |
| Real Estate Experience | +10 | RE license or title keywords |
| Financial Services | +10 | Industry/title match (Series 7, CFP, advisor, etc.) |
| Former Athlete | +10 | Bio keywords (D1, NCAA, varsity, all-american, etc.) |
| Experience Sweet Spot | +10 | 3–15 years of experience |
| Active Job Seeker | +10 | Apollo "actively looking" flag |
| Target State | +5 | Located in a configured target state |
| Cross-Segment Bonus | +10 | Matches 3+ ICP segments |
Score Tiers
Confidence-Scaled Penalties
Scores reflect data completeness. The score confidence meter on each candidate shows how many of the 7 data signals are available. Missing data means the score may be lower than the candidate's actual fit — revealing more data can unlock additional points.
Background Checks
Background checks run automatically after revealing a candidate and can also be triggered manually. All checks use free public APIs.
What Gets Checked
US Treasury sanctions list. A match here is an automatic disqualification — this person cannot be legally engaged.
Federal and state court records. Searches for litigation involving the candidate's name. Matches are confidence-scored based on location overlap.
Financial industry regulatory records. Checks for broker registrations and disclosure events (complaints, terminations, regulatory actions).

Outreach Eligibility
A candidate qualifies for outreach (push to GoHighLevel) when ALL of these conditions are met:
Candidates with "review" background status ARE eligible — low-confidence matches don't block outreach.
Credits
Apollo API actions consume credits from your monthly budget.
| Action | Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Search (list people) | 0 cr | Free — browse without spending |
| Reveal (name + email) | 1 cr | Unlocks full name, email, LinkedIn |
| Phone reveal | 8 cr | Mobile number via Apollo mobile credits |
Background checks, license lookups, TruePeopleSearch, and CourtListener are free. RocketReach uses its own separate API credits.
Data Sources
Primary source. Professional profiles, verified emails, phone numbers. Used for market search, ICP sweep, reveal, and phone enrichment.
Secondary enrichment. Fills in missing emails and phone numbers when Apollo data is incomplete. Uses its own API key.
Free phone number lookup via web scraping. Requires Playwright. Good fallback for candidates missing phone numbers.
Government license databases for insurance (FL, IL, and more) and real estate (CA, FL, TX, NY). Free direct lookups by name.
